16″ x 24″ Church at Deisem – North Dakota

16″ x 24″ Long Exposure Photograph of The Seventh Day Adventist Church in the ghost town of Deisem, North Dakota. Built in the late 1800s, it survived for nearly a century until the nearby railroad shut down. Orange flashlight pours from the door and windows as if the church is still burning from a fire that perhaps caused its demise. The autumnal full moon cascaded over the ghosts of its parishioners as we shivered to stay warm in the wind that whipped in from the north. Day One of our week-long journey through North Dakota: Complete.
