Find Your Courage – Denhoff, North Dakota

Long Exposure Photograph of an abandoned farmhouse lit up like a pumpkin, that giggles away and pays with no mind to its impending demise, with nothing but a rusty windmill to hold vigil. Nearby Denhoff, North Dakota, is an unincorporated town with a population of about a dozen or so. Needless to say, we were alone out there in that field, save for our friend here. We had just bailed on a different location, so this old home was a welcome comfort in spite of the six degree chill that nipped at our appendages. It took awhile to walk from our parked van, wind our way through some tall brush, avoid snapping an ankle in the fox holes, and trek across the acre of frost-encrusted mud. But it was well worth the effort to see the ragged old man up close.
